Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has congratulated the Ukrainian people on the Christmas holiday and thanked them for their support.
Her greetings were delivered by her daughter Eugenia.
"From all my heart I congratulate you on the best and brightest holiday – Christmas! I want today when you gather with your family to feel that we are strong and can overcome any obstacles when we are together. I want to wish everyone good and happiness, well being and family love," she said.
"For over two thousand years the bright Christmas star has shown people the right way. I believe that the Lord will bless Ukraine and each of us will feel and understand which path is the right one, which deeds are good, and which decisions are just. Christmas gives us the belief that good will always overcome evil. I want the Lord to give us the strength to fight for Ukraine, for every person, for the rights and opportunities of all Ukrainians. Christ is Born! Glorify Him!" she said.
Yulia Tymoshenko also thanked Patriarch Filaret who blessed a service outside the Kachanivska prison and Father Viktor Marynchak who held a Christmas service, and all her colleagues that prayed together for a just fate.
